"A town of about 5K with its own movie theater,6 chain restaurants and 5 local own. There is no public transport unless you are a senior citizen or have special needs. You can survive on local stores but many drive 10 miles to a national chain. Two hardware stores keep a DIY person well supplied. Night life is 2 Bars or school/community activities. Alllegan is a quality community to raise a family in a safe environment. "
    • Jchentig
"Close by river walk stores like Montage which carries various wines from across the world, ice-cream shop, and restaurants like the Grill House. "I work here and live here! Raised our family here. Small town, great schools with excellent sports programs, sports complex, parks, nice downtown area. Centrally located to Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, and Holland metro areas."
    • Kweiss
"Lived here for 11 years, great location in the middle of a triangle of Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, and Holland. Only 15 miles to Lk Michigan. Lake Allegan is beatiful for kayaking and boating. State Game area, skiing and snowmobiling is at our door step. Nice golf courses and gun shooting range near by too-something for everyone! "
    • Mandy M.
"My husband and I have lived here for four years. It's a nice quiet neighborhood with very little traffic. Great area for raising children. Nice neighbors, clean, in the city but it doesn't feel like it. Truly love living here. I would only move to get a bigger house for my growing family."
    • Joe
"Have a vacation home in this area and love the quite and relaxing setting of all the surounding homes with wooded lots and wonderful lake views. This area really has a Northwoods feel with all the homes built around the lake and you will not find lake lot settings at comparable prices to this lake anywhere. Also, the sunset views are amazing due to the size of this lake. This area is very quite even with the new homes being built on all the remaining lots all around the lake. And there are beautiful homes all around this lake. Looking forward to the fall pontoon rides with the colorful trees all around the lake."
