The town has a big festival every year. The Pumpkin Show. One year we were in the local grocery store and several teachers (one being a former teacher of the year) were down talking a couple of elementary aged students. Many parents heard the discussion, and the town is small enough the teachers knew they heard. Bullying is not handled well at this school. The student can follow the rules in regards to turning in the bullying and nothing will be done. When the student is tired of the incessant bullying and protects themselves (after months of the school doing nothing) the student being bullied is punished.

Bullying is an issue here. The parents of the bullies are lied to about the real reason their bully child was called into question. Rarely is the bully punished, or even reprimanded. The bully walks away thinking it was all a joke. Then rumors within the community start making it even harder for the one being bullied. The swinging door of leadership is enabling the issue. The one bullied teen walks away having not been helped, and self esteem even worse.

How could a small school that has achieved four star status and is in the top ten in the state only ranked as 7/10 and average. Don't know what the criteria is for judging public school, but this rating is at least 2 points below the schools educational environment and performance. This school system needs to be ranked at least a 9/10 to give this site any credibility on impartial rankings
