"The people in my neighborhood are friendly and helpful. We also have good parks, local shops, and community events that bring people together"
  • Destinyking138
"The earlier I leave in the morning the better, being behind a school bus is a nightmare. There’s too many blind corners with no sidewalks"
  • Lindavaclavik
"There are efforts for neighborhood get-togethers at least a couple times a year. The planning efforts are good and the turnout also seems to be very good."
  • Adreelyn
"Most of my neighbors are multiple families/generations living in one house. This makes for congested streets, as the neighbors each have more cars than will fit in the driveway and park on the streets."
  • Trulia User
"Haven’t experienced any events yet. But I enjoy the area and some of the neighbors. The ball park is pretty close so it’s cool to hear the entertainment from that."
  • Trulia User
"friendly people local markets and shopping. cute quaint stores. everyone is very friendly I never use to lock my doors "
  • Trulia User
"My neighborhood has easy access to transportation, freeway hubs, light rail not far, and bus routes. it is well maintained and a great place to live. The city, cultural events, religious institutes, historical sights, music venues or the great mountainous or desert outdoors are only minutes away. "
  • Chris C.
"Your home is what you make it, it’s a great little area with a lot of different types of food and activities to try and do . Nice schools convenient and close so school traffic isn’t to bad at all I have 6 kids and love it here and I came from Georgia "
  • Dawnl0229
"It’s near a lot of schools particularly elementary. And some quite a bit of cool stores as well. The location is so close to this places you could walk. "
  • Waj1961
"Neighborhood watch programs. Strong religious presence. Great school district with great teachers. Great Fitness center. "
  • Jose R.
"It’s really good i wake up every morning and traffic is not the best but it’s moderate. I work in Taylorsville and I get their in less than 10 minutes usually. "
  • Gail C.
"People walk their dogs a lot here some 2x’s a day. Some bark a lot but that’s what dogs do ... their just talking to each other "
  • Aylakbrooks15
"There’s a trax station right down the street from my house that leads to central pointe. There’s UTA shuttles that go through the neighborhood as well. "
  • Shannb801
"i have not lived here long enough to experience any community events, but in the past, i’ve attended west fest and thought it was very neat and fun. "
  • Edith772001
"I love my neighbors and fell safe here! Is very family oriented and kids play outside. West valley is pretty big."
  • Shannb801
"they would like that it’s very dog friendly and many people own a dog/dogs! what they wouldn’t like is some do not pick up after their dog "
  • Carolina C.
"there are many families in the neighborhood. friendly, calm, no parks near by or public transport in my area. not very crowded but starting to get more busy with people wanting to move here. "
  • Jasmine0207p
"I love when people are are walking there dogs because I love my dog and other dogs and so I think it’s cool how people take care of there dogs "
  • Carma W.
"the people that have been in the neighborhood for a long time have good bonds established. we look out for each other & the properties we live on. "
  • Brandie T.
"I have lived in the same neighborhood since 1994. My neighbors new and old are friendly. I live on a quiet street that doesn't get much traffic. I like that we now have multiple choices of schools for our children to attend. The charter schools are a welcome addition to our area. Charter schools are free, just like the state run public schools. We live near a large park with indoor and outdoor pools, skatepark, fitness center, baseball and soccer fields. We are walking distance from shopping and places to eat. "
  • Sebrina
"There are some wonderful parks and places that are good to eat at. And there good neighbors living in the city. They keep up with a clean neighborhood."
  • Jayden B.
"In my particular neighborhood there is a constant police presence due to continuous criminal activity. In my particular apartment complex alone we have witnessed multiple arrests. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this area unless you have a security system on a road set aside from the high traffic areas. "
  • Aarmstrong129
"It’s fairly easy to access main roads but I work from home most of the time so commuting isn’t an issue."
  • Uyen T.
"Bus access, a couple of miles from the trax but mainly personal cars as we are close to highways and freeways"
  • Carma W.
"Dogs are welcome here, people walk dogs often. There is a park not far from any house that people bring there dogs to often. "
  • Myste D. N.
"My neighborhood is going to pot. I feel like the violence keeps increasing and the police cannot keep up with it. Hearing shots fired is becoming the norm. It no longer even has an affect on my 15 year old child and that scares me me. I'm trying desperately to move out of this community. "
  • al
"i hate it here people are mean to your kids and the kids are even worse. cars get messed with. i have 7 open cases with the cops from the last month."
  • ninaw
"It is close to everything I need. We usually take at most 40 min to go and do whatever we like but usually everything is like 15 min away. "
  • Catherine G.
"it's not a very clean area. I don't have dogs but if I did I'd be worried about keeping them safe. dogs get stolen a lot."
  • Duane
"The area is relatively safe but the schools could stand improving. Children will become more culturally aware and educated."
  • Jay
"The police do nothing to stop people from giving / sharing drugs with minors. Not a neighborhood that I would suggest for families with children."
  • Edith772001
"You see people walking dogs, jogging, or kids walking around, very nice and quiet. Some traffic in the mornings due to school times! "
  • Fui K.
"Great place to live. Very diverse and great community involvement from the city. People are kind and genuine."
  • Edward S
"my neighborhood has a every close library and gas stations for snacks. Very dog friendly will soon have a small grocery store close by which is very nice. The houses look very beautiful and will see children playing outside often."
  • Quastamber
"West valley is not as family friendly as it used to be. Seems like there’s more crime or people that would be a bad influence on children."
  • Teresa B.
"there are a lot of dog friendly places close by, also there are a lot of places that have dog parks to take your dogs to"
  • Siouxsieq
"there isn't anything that makes this neighborhood unique. it's a nice neighborhood. several parks walking distance. stores within ten minutes. nice place to live"
  • Dave Hall
"This is a great neighborhood -- easy access to both highways for work or university -- unique style homes. Fantastic theatre, the mall for shopping/restaurants is getting better and better and is busy. The new downtown plan will bring a lot of value to the community of West Valley. New plans to improve the 2700 West road will make it a nicer place to walk and bike -- with new fencing and some help for older home exteriors planned. We have a friendly community/neighborhood that makes it safe for kids to play/bike around and prevents vandalism. We are close to the train/transit. I love my neighbors, who are very diverse and keep their homes and yards in nice shape. I like living in this area, after having lived in many areas from either end of the valley. You get more for your money 'right now' but this is one of the up-n-coming investment communities -- a last remaining along the wasatch front."
  • Rich P.
"Good neighborhood to grow up in, beautiful place to be around. Close to all the schools, shopping and movies "
