"Big Dog park at the VA is a huge pro, however, many neighborhoods do not have sidewalks for walking dogs"
  • Rita Lewis
"I don’t like dogs, but there are plenty of them around town. Too many of them Lots of people walk theirs"
  • Rita Lewis
"My neighborhood is average. People don’t really know each other. The homes are from around 1920 and they were working class homes, on the smaller size. "
  • Noah Jacob
"Leavenworth is a fantastic city to raise kids the only downside is that there is nothing to do but you are close to other places that do "
  • Trulia User
"I don't live in Wadsworth. I've never even heard of this neighborhood. I don't have anything else to say."
  • Trulia User
"Great place for young families and retirees. safe, quiet neighborhood many lined with trees. lots of places to walk, historic beautiful foliage in the fall, fickle weather patterns."
  • Ashley J.
"It’s a great area. And plenty of places to walk your dog and feel safe while going out and doing it. "
  • Dorothy
"although our neighbors are friendly if you want to keep to yourself you can. Overall we feel safe living outside the city limits. "
  • Saralyn A.
" Walking trails and sports fields close by for youth. close to elementary and high school. kids are able to ride bikes, runners jog this is a pretty safe place to live and raise young kids. "
  • Susan R. R.
"There are a lot of dogs in this neighborhood but people don’t walk them much. People aren’t terribly friendly to be honest. The dogs seem to be however. "
  • Dorothy
"Every house has large yard. Everyone has at least 1 or 2 dogs. There is a dog park and plenty of areas for hiking and walking. "
  • Susan R. R.
"It’s a quiet neighborhood. Like most places some neighbors are friendly; some are not. Close to grocery shopping, some other shops. "
  • Saralyn A.
"my neighborhood is quiet it conducive for raising kids. i would recommend my area for young families. "
  • Usa.sandra.usa
"safe area. pity that sidewalks have poor lighting at night. some drivers are driving too fast in the area and this is the one thing not likeable. "
  • Vwlover572003
"There is zero public transportation in this community. The cab service is spotty and very overpriced. Most of the drivers are seedy and you feel uncomfortable riding with them"
  • Devinfarmer484
"Leavenworth is trapped in a time era. The buildings are older and full of character. The homes are either newly renovated and pricy or are cheap and needs tremendous amount of TLC. The community is heavily populated with military personnel. "
  • Eric T.
"There are really no community events. There is a neighborhood pool that is really nice in the summer and it’s a reasonable price"
  • Bwtchn
"No dog park nearby. A fenced clean place for the apartment dwellers pets to romp and play safely would be awesome. There should be several within city limits. We love the wide sidewalks and appreciate it when people pick up after their pets and regular access to trash cans would eliminate the need to drop or carry home your pets poo. "
  • Devinfarmer484
"This community is pro-military and is within limits of several jails/federal prisons This town is quaint. "
  • Kurt S.
"Kid safe and kid friendly neighbors. Most homes participated in the normal holiday events like trick or treating and decorating for Christmas. Parents are very friendly and social in the Highland Pointe sub division. Most neighbors are CGSC students renting off post."
  • Kurt S.
"I lived in Leavenworth for a year while attending school on post. Be careful when driving north and south on any of the major streets like 4th, 7th, and 10th Avenue. Locals like to role or has through stop signs. As for our area, we lived off post in the neighborhood behind Dillons Grocery Store. Most neighbors were renters like us and attending the same military school. Very kid and pet friendly area, the holidays were fun with trick or treating. Leavenworth didn’t do a fair job in snow removal during the winter, if you lived in a cul de sac snow removal was a joke. They would only plow a “y” up the middle and leave the rest. As for things to do, it’s small town USA. We didn’t most of the activities offered in Leavenworth in the first 3 months."
  • Sandra C
"Neighbors look out for one another. I have not experienced this as much as here. Churches from all denominations work together to see after the ones in need. "
  • Sandra Changuion
"I do not know as I do not pay too much attention to this matter. I do however notice many people walking their dogs in the neighborhood. "
  • Sandra C
"Lovely, helpful neighbors all around. Great place to live. All neighbors are friendly. Everyone watches out for everyone else."
  • Caitlyn B.
"Our neighborhood is really convenient with fast food and grocery stores nearby, only about 10 minutes from downtown. Neighbors are friendly and great with our animals and children"
  • Nicole R.
"I've lived in Leavenworth for 21 years. My parents were born and raised here. Everyone knows everyone and looks out for their neighbors. Small town, locally owned stores and the best home cooked meals from one of a kind restaurants. "
  • Deadworld 6.
"just moved here and I enjoy the neighborhood, great neighbors. just wish there were street lights. no complaints other than that"
  • Drewjones1287
"I live in the country so no sidewalks just wide roads. I see neighbors walking with their dogs all the time."
  • C6arsensult1212
"Everything you need is less than 20 minutes away. Food, entertainment, Walmart. traffic is very light and everyone abides by the traffic laws "
  • Tbrg03
"blocks from downtown shops and the farmers market, walking distance to the old dairy queen and pho restaurant. "
  • Dorothy B.
"There are not any community events in our neighborhood. Everyone typically keeps to themselves. The only get togethers are when we invite friends over. "
