We don't do anything in this school but sleep and text. I realize that all the teachers expect nothing from you! students here don't believe in ambition. The hard truth, I even have video footage of my everyday school day on youtube. Whoever rates this higher than one star might be for the very same reason that yes, we do have a lot of chat time and text but that misses the point. A school in New York or Los Angeles would be very diffrent. Where are all ther artists, singers, actors, writers, presidents, and inspirational people from? L.A. or NYC of coarse. Have you ever heard of a Denzel Washington from Brownsville or Porter HS? The point is that Porter is a school that hides kids from the fact that we are meaningless little ignorants. Well said.

This school is a disgrace. My daughter has come home upset about being bullied she tried telling her teacher but she said she didn't want to hear any "chismes" (gossip). My son is having a very hard time in reading and it seems as if I take more time at home with him than they do. Then again its probably because they have 29 students in his class. How could he possibly get any attention. ?.... The administrators are a joke they are rude and sarcastic totally unprofessional gossiping about other staff even in front of me with no shame as if I wasn't even there. This school seriously needs new staff asap

It has some good clubs and activities but recently they have been pulling people out of them, because they apparently need to catch up with the core classes, but If the club teachers Can do there job in forty five minutes shouldn’t the core classes be held to the same standard?After all that’s why we have tutorial right? I’ve seen first hand how this school just obliterated the choir program, and is making us do prompts in band I feel like this is wrong because if there just pulling people out of electives then by the time you know it next year no electives. Which I think is not fair to the students or the club teachers.

Excelente preparatoria. Desde pequeño mu hijo demostró cualidades extraodinarias en su inteligencia, es GT (gifted and talented). Para mediados de middle school teníamos vista esta escuela para continuar su educación preparatoria. Su maestros de ciencias y matemàticas dieron amplias recomendaciones para que mi hijo estudiara allí desde que es una escuela que promueve clases avanzadas (AP) y de honor. Empezando 11 grados solo toman clases de crédito de colegio. Desde 11 grado sus clases son todas en UTRGV con sus crédito de colegio. Gradúan su preparatoria y también un asociado en UTRGV. El ambiente es muy cercano con profesores y directivos. El campus es seguro y tener pocos estudiantes comparados a las otras high schools de la ciudad hace un ambiente mas personalizado para los estudiantes. Es inclusiva en cuanto a las necesidades especiales de los estudiantes y fácil obtener los servicios recomendados. Muy buena elección si su hijo esta enfocafo en sus estudios y quiere llevar al máximo sus capacidades.
