I would not recommend this school if you are looking for a warm and caring environment. Administration focuses on all the wrong things and is not helpful to students or parents. There is a lot of favoritism for the students of families that have lived in the area a long time. Lots of staff members are related to each other creating an environment that is not fair to other staff members or students. Even though it is a small school the teacher turnover is high each year. Some teachers are amazing and do so much for their students but they are few and far between. My children have not been happy at this school with their teachers the past few years. The test scores of this school compared to others in the district leave a lot to be desired.

This school is highly unorganized and lacks communication greatly. Events aren’t communicated until the day of, the office will put off issues or requirements not met for months then contact you with a 24 hour deadline to complete any tasks that don’t meet their expectations. For example there was an issue with our enrollment (proof of address specifically) and they waited for 3 months to inform me that one of our documents didn’t meet their expectations. Instead of working with me they suspended my son’s accounts so his instructors were unable to input any of his grades and he was unable to view his classes. Every time I would submit exactly what they asked for, they would ask for more. I eventually unenrolled my son and he now does online schooling until we relocate. This school is awful. They don’t care about the student, the office is so unfriendly and seem to be filled with pride.

I am consistently shocked at the behavior of students in the school. Students run wild in the hallways, constantly cursing, fighting etc. I was totally shocked because this is a brand new school in a new area. I thought Katy had stronger discipline than this. There are few administrators in the hallways during passing periods. Rarely see the police officer interact with the students in the school. The officer should be walking the hallways and helping to be a deterrent for bad behavior. There are some excellent teachers here that really care for the kids, and there are some awesome kids that attend here. But there's a very large group of students who will do their best to cause classroom disruption. Unfortunately this group taints the whole school because it is on a daily basis that these things occur. I hope that there is some type of real focus on bringing students back into being respectful and ready to learn.
