I would not recommend this school if you are looking for a warm and caring environment. Administration focuses on all the wrong things and is not helpful to students or parents. There is a lot of favoritism for the students of families that have lived in the area a long time. Lots of staff members are related to each other creating an environment that is not fair to other staff members or students. Even though it is a small school the teacher turnover is high each year. Some teachers are amazing and do so much for their students but they are few and far between. My children have not been happy at this school with their teachers the past few years. The test scores of this school compared to others in the district leave a lot to be desired.

This school is highly unorganized and lacks communication greatly. Events aren’t communicated until the day of, the office will put off issues or requirements not met for months then contact you with a 24 hour deadline to complete any tasks that don’t meet their expectations. For example there was an issue with our enrollment (proof of address specifically) and they waited for 3 months to inform me that one of our documents didn’t meet their expectations. Instead of working with me they suspended my son’s accounts so his instructors were unable to input any of his grades and he was unable to view his classes. Every time I would submit exactly what they asked for, they would ask for more. I eventually unenrolled my son and he now does online schooling until we relocate. This school is awful. They don’t care about the student, the office is so unfriendly and seem to be filled with pride.

Haskett Middle School has serious concerns when it comes to how student discipline is handled. As a parent, I have experienced firsthand what appears to be inconsistent investigations and a lack of fairness in decision-making.In my son’s situation, disciplinary action was taken based on an incomplete investigation with missing details and no clear evidence. Decisions were made quickly, yet in other situations involving different students, investigations have taken longer without resolution. That inconsistency is concerning.What stood out even more was the difference in tone and treatment. In a previous incident where my son was the one harmed, the administration was empathetic, calm, and spoke highly of the other student. In this situation, the tone shifted to being accusatory, dismissive, and lacking the same level of understanding.It is also troubling to observe what appears to be a pattern in disciplinary actions disproportionately affecting African-American students. This raises serious concerns about equity and whether all students are being treated fairly.Parents deserve transparency, and students deserve thorough, unbiased investigations before serious disciplinary decisions are made. I strongly encourage district leadership to review these practices and ensure accountability moving forward.
