8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is by far the absolute worst school in HCISD. The administration constantly ignores serious issues, especially when it comes to bullying, disrespect, and the treatment of students. Instead of creating a safe and supportive environment where children can learn and feel comfortable, this school allows harmful behavior to continue without proper consequences. It is extremely disappointing and upsetting as a parent to see how students are treated by the very people who are supposed to protect and guide them. One of the biggest issues is the behavior of the assistant principals. Rather than handling situations professionally and respectfully, they often come across as rude and dismissive. My child brought her headphones to school, and instead of calmly explaining the rules, the assistant principal took them from her and refused to return them appropriately. The situation was handled in such an unprofessional way that it felt more like stealing than enforcing school policy. On top of that, my child was yelled at and humiliated instead of being treated with basic respect. The bullying problem at this school is also out of control. Students are allowed to harass, pick on, and mistreat others while the administration either ignores it or does very little to stop it. Children should never have to feel unsafe or unsupported while attending school, yet that is exactly what many students experience daily. It is heartbreaking to know that students who are struggling or being bullied often feel like nobody in charge cares enough to help them or listen to their concerns. What makes the situation even worse is the inappropriate way some staff members speak about students, especially young girls. One assistant principal has made comments saying that girls are “too distracting” for the boys. Statements like this are completely unacceptable because they place blame on young girls for the behavior of others instead of teaching boys accountability and respect. No child should ever feel sexualized, judged, embarrassed, or shamed by an adult at school. Staff members are supposed to encourage confidence, safety, kindness, and equality among students, not make comments that make children uncomfortable or singled out.Overall, this school has failed many students and parents through poor leadership, lack of accountability, and disrespectful behavior. Schools should be places where students feel encouraged, safe, supported, but this school does the exact opposite.!!!Parent Review2mo ago5 Reviews - Dr Hesiquio Rodriguez Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI'm sorry but this school raised red flags for me since the first day of school. We recently moved to Harlingen and this was the school my child was assigned to. I always like to drop off my kids the first day of school so that I can meet the teachers (my wife drops them off most of the time). That first day I was floored when I saw what the teachers and staff were wearing. There is no place for five inch heels and tight revealing dresses at school for anyone much less the teachers. We are midway through the school year and my son is doing O.K., but he's always done well at school. Recently, his "conduct" card has been sent home continuously with complaints from the teacher (or teachers as after my wife asked for clarification on one incident and we sere met with "additional comments" from a second teacher). My boy has also started to dislike doing his homework. This is something we've never experienced as he has always loved doing his homework, even being down when we weren't able to get right to his homework after school. It just seams to me like the teachers care more about "other things" (i.e. their looks, etc.) rather than focussing on their students.Parent Review13y ago4 Reviews - Early College High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy experience at this school has been amazing, from the teachers to administrators to even the janitorial staff. The teachers are passionate and glad to help students with whatever they need, and although the student body isn't large, it's very close. You can meet a lot of good people here. Finally, they are going to open a new facility next year which will enhance the student experience.Student Review5y ago4 Reviews - Check out schools near 32 Los Amigos.
