This school has a new principal and lord do we miss our previous principal. There is a complete disregard for the emotional support and understanding of lack of diversity. My child has been made fun of because of the color of his skin..and nothing was done. As a matter of fact the principal and staff told us they should’ve known the moment it was said so it is “believe-able.” Then the moment apparently my son retaliates after a secondary situation, they wanted him to write an apology letter to the student. This principal has her favorites and from my understanding came into this situation in over her head. I hope she can settle into her role with a lot more grace and better resolve for every student and not just the ones she labels as a “problem child.” Keeping students in the office or away from their classroom to do their work for no realistic reason is not proper resolve, investigating students without proper knowledge given to parents is NOT ok. You as the principal are then coming to your own conclusion based on what you see in your face and communicating or as I’ve noticed, interviewing students with questions in your favor to create your own narrative rather than the actuality of what that student is going through. It is not their place to judge but rather to uplift their students progress into becoming their best-self! I hope this school can do better in their upcoming years. I really do.
