8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter went through middle school and is finishing grade 12, the school has done a great job in preparing her applying for college, her profile on college applications has been very strong thanks to GRHS. Lots of AP class options and Honors classes, lots of ways to get a high GPA if you want advanced classes. Teachers care, especially if the student cares. School did as good a job as could be expected during COVID, virtual classes for high schoolers kept them on track better than a great many other schools managed. School has usual teenage issues like every other high school, but nothing that cannot be navigated. Is it 100% perfect in all areas? No. But then again, literally no anywhere school is. Big picture, GRHS is a great school, and for the vast majority of students, they will have a great time and a great educational outcome. We have no complaints whatsoever.Parent Review2y ago11 Reviews - Forest Ave School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth of our sons have attended Forest, and we love the school. Even though our younger was stuck with a teacher who has a reputation for being less tolerant of kinetic boys, she has nevertheless been helpful in meeting with us and discussing her expectations and our son's needs. Our boys have had very different experiences there, but both have been exellent. The principal is engaged in the children's education, the arts teachers do a superlative job, and there is strong family involvement with the school. No place is perfect, but we are truly fortunate to have had our boys at Forest!Parent Review8y ago1 Reviews - Ridgewood Avenue School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have two children enrolled at RAS. Both of their teachers are very strong, providing sound instruction and structure in the classroom. Both teachers are extremely positive role models, and have been a source of inspiration to our children all year long. The administration is friendly and open to parent communication. The principal and assistant principal are very popular with the students. The school has strong any-bullying policies and programs, and is a very friendly tolerant place.Parent Review14y ago2 Reviews - Check out schools near 32 Clairidge Ct.

"No comment; NJ transit has some work to do to sustain growth in the surrounding region. Grateful to have the option but need more space on trains, more trains, better quality "

"Glen Ridge is an up-scale community known for the historic gas lamps that line the streets in front of historic Victorian and Colonial homes. Glen Ridge Borough has many amenities within walking distance including the direct train to NYC, and easy access to Montclair's up-scale restaurants, theaters, and art museum. The in-town restaurant "Fitzgerald's 1928" serves an eclectic, up-scale menu and is a favorite place for residents to get together for occasions. Glen Ridge is family oriented with an excellent school system that graduates students that go to many competitive universities. The town has a mix of housing ranging from small 1920's Colonials and Tutors along with the larger homes that line Ridgewood Avenue. The Gas Lamp Players, an amateur community theater group puts on several plays a year, with "acting positions" open to children as well as adults who would like to participate. Glen Ridge has several parks and athletic fields for for school and community use, a nice town library and the restored Victorian train station at the center of town for direct travel into New York City. Come and visit this special place where cinema production companies often come to film movies using the unique homes and streets as a backdrop. It is a great place to raise a family with all of the amenities needed always close by. "

"Glen Ridge is a family friendly town with excellent schools, shopping and amenities nearby, several local parks and ball fields in different sections of town and a NY mid-town direct train accessible to everyone. Houses range from large victorian, tudor and colonial homes on prestigious Ridgewood Avenue to beautiful and historic 3-5 bedroom homes on secondary streets. The streets are lined with 19th century gas lamps giving the town a very historic feel. The Glen Ridge Country Club is located in town and offers golfing, tennis, swimming, and other amenities if you are so inclined to become a member. People move into town with families because of the outstanding schools, with many graduates going on to competitive colleges and universities. There are many social and cultural amenities close by including excellent restaurants, clubs and museums in nearby Montclair. There is also the local watering hole ( Fitzgerald’s 1928) where many residents gather for a drink or good meal right in town. The town offers a unique blend of small town family living, with NYC is still very accessible by the direct train located in town. Come and see what a special place this is to live!"

"Glen Ridge has top rated schools, easy (train and bus) access to Manhattan, historic district gas street lamps, wide range of housing...from $300k to $3million. Excellent police force! great parks and right next to Montclair which offers all the restaurants (most of them BYOB) and night life you can imagine! Great town for families, couples and singles with views of Manhattan from certain parts of town!"

"I lived in Glen Ridge for 25 years. I was drawn to the town for it's beauty, trees, wonderful homes and architecture, and mostly for it's top rated schools. I worked in NYC which is only 15 miles due East with train and bus transportation very close by. Glen Ridge is definitely for families. It's a very friendly and safe environment. Because of its small size, between 7 & 8000 residents you will meet and have many friends. Only negative are the high taxes."
