The students are what makes Yankton High School so great. Yankton High School has friendly students giving it a small town school climate within a medium-sized town. I think the teachers and administrators are pleased to teach at Yankton High School as sseen by the high teacher retention. Teachers are proud to work with Yankton High School students who give their time and support to each other. The teachers provide students with well-prepared classroom lesson plans. In addition, the teachers volunteer to coach many after school activities including speech, history, music, sports, and science. The administration goal is to keep the school a safe and well-mannered place.. Overall, the students have won trophies at the state and national level in many areas including science and history. Some national competitions that the students have done well in, and accomplished first place, include individual events Science Olympiad and National History Day. The students accept each other, and are proud of each others' accomplishments. Overall, the students make Yankton High School a great place to attend, and benefit from its strong teaching staff and supportive administration..
