Ukiah high School is small - but has a really wide variety of opportunities for all its students. The teaching staff knows the subjects they teach well, include many different activities and learning styles to their instruction and actively work to meet the individual needs of the students they have. The school offers students the opportunity to play soccer, basketball, volleyball, and track and field as official sports. They also organize an annual ski and snowboarding program for all interested students. Students have the opportunity to participate in many academic focused programs and clubs. The TSA program has been very successful with students participating, competing, and placing very high in nearly every conference for the past several years. The science department has a strong relationship with NASA and offers a variety of opportunities for student to experience research science alongside working NASA and university scientists. The language arts teacher is a past "Oregon Teacher of the Year' , offers classes that can earn students college credits while still in high school, and is well known around the area for her work with students and other teachers.
