"Can walk or ride bike to downtown."
  • Jerry Townsend
"Many kind, giving people in the community. The city is a big neighborhood with a single traffic light, nestled along a large crabbing bay and alonside the Pacific Ocean."
  • Jerry Townsend
"Easy commute, 20 minutes to Newport or 5 minutes to downtown Waldport. Little traffic and well maintained roads."
  • Terry M.
" Great area for a beach house. 7 mi of clean, sandy beach. Many homes with at least some ocean view. Many streets with very little traffic (great for pets and walking). Waldport is a quiet, friendly community. Several churches, a grocery store, and a good Mexican restaurant. Short drive to Newport or Yachats, both of which have many restaurants and some shopping. In my opinion the great beach and low crime rate are some of Bayshore's greatest assests. Also, access on and off Hgwy 101 is facilitated by turn lanes onto Bayshore Dr. Alsea Bay is great for kayaking and seasonal fishing. Many beautiful forest hikes within a short drive. No, I didn't get paid to say this. I just like living here."
  • Rolo545
"Very low crime rate, quiet, very friendly"
  • Classcelass1
"A very quiet neighborhood in a beautiful setting. Walking can be a challenge, as the main road has limited access for walking, and people do not follow the 25 mph speed limit. Walking with dogs can be challenging as well, as it is sometimes difficult to keep the dogs on the narrow area provided for pedestrians. The homeowners association can be a bit biased as well. Other than these issues, this is a perfect area to live, with mostly couples and retired folks living here."
  • Kuhl951
"I live here 70% of the year and love it. We can walk for miles on the beach in either direction and seldom run into others. It's a very dog friendly area. Shopping for anything but groceries requires a drive into Newport. Our place is behind a large dune and the old growth spruces cut the wind to almost zero on really windy days. Great fishing, crabbing, and clamming make it a fisherman's paradise. "
  • Sharon M.
"SMALL COMUNITY WITH LITTLE ENTERTAINMENT OTHER THAN BEACH COMBING. PRETTY ISOLATED. NO NEAR BY MEDICAL FACILITIES, SO NOT GOOD FOR OLDER PERSONS. BEST FOR 55-65 YEAR OLD RETIRED FOLKS."
