1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy experience with the school has been excellent at distinct levels. I rate this school high in safety and teaching. The teachers are dedicated and caring. Too often, the media focuses on deficit views of the school, yet the assets offered by this school are often ignored.Parent Review3y ago6 Reviews - Brookside School 54

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is the worst school I've let my children go to they allow bullying, and fighting, and they are allowed to flip desks, throw stuff, Etc.Also, the teachers in this school are very disrespectful to students, my son came to me saying that his teacher yelled at him for not doing his work because someone broke his pencil, he told me he tried to explain to the teacher but she wouldn't let him explain. You also can't learn at this school the kids are way too loud and you can't hear the teacher. There ain't no way my 2 honor roll kids' grades went down that much over 6 months. In my solid opinion, they learn better in 2020 when online school was in effect. So, you won't see me or my kids here next year.Parent Review3y ago3 Reviews - Crispus Attucks Medical Magnet High School (9-12)

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has several bright points and also many challenges. I think the school does a really good job with providing a quality place to learn; many awesome teachers, some not as great, that's the way it would go at any school. The principal cares about the students and, in my experience, so do the teachers. Maybe it's not a 5/5, but it's also not a 1, so I want to balance it out.Other Review2y ago7 Reviews - Shortridge High School

"The Halloween festival is a lot of fun with lots of cool costumes and cool booths to check out. There’s usually food trucks and drink options too. Parking is very tricky for this event, but if you live close enough you can just walk"

"The area sucks. You basically require a vehicle in order to do anything around here. There isn’t a lot to do nearby and there aren’t really any public areas to enjoy. You have to drive somewhere else in order to receive a good experience and the restaurants nearby do not care at all."

"There are often stray dogs and MANY stray/feral cats. I stopped walking my dog because of running into stray dogs or dogs that weren’t on leashes. There are a large number of irresponsible pet owners in the area. "

"I have been attacked several times walking in the neighborhood. Many times it’s because no one has a backyard and everyone has a dog. Both times the dogs were not neutered and aggressive. It's the #1 reason I'm leaving this part of the near east side."
