Overall, I’d give Redwood High School 4 out of 5 stars. The school has a pretty competitive environment — a lot of students really push themselves to get the best grades, which can be motivating but also very stressful at times. Some kids can be a bit mean, and I did have a few teachers who weren’t the nicest.That said, most of the teachers were genuinely kind, supportive, and passionate about what they teach. They helped me rediscover my love for learning and actually made me excited to come to school again. Despite a few negative experiences, the good definitely outweighed the bad.

My son loves going to Bel Aire. The teachers are super nice and they have a variety of programs for the kids.

Reed elementary is such a gem of a school. The teachers all go above and beyond to make it a great learning experience for our kids. I love the small class sizes which are smaller than many private schools. Our older son was there during the Covid years and our 1st grade teacher stayed with them and continued to teach the class in 2nd to avoid any disruption. We sent our kids to private school in Marin at one point and I feel Reed is comparable if not better! What really makes a big difference are the parents and high level of engagement with volunteers.

We moved from a small private school in San Francisco that was well regarded. The school academics are very good, and Brian Lynch is a caring leader who is empathetic and cares about the student community. Kids are very prepared for high school and grade cohorts are small. There is a lot of enrichment including math club, steel pans, design lab, band, clubs on inclusion, community service and sports. My son is happy here so far!
