All positive experiences at this school. Principal (new since COVID19) is great - very accessible, very involved, very visible and available to students as well as parents. Teachers are great. School is very diverse...represent real life. We like it and would recommend it.

My daughter is currently in her first year at VRES. Ms. Ramirez is her 1st grade teacher and she is quite phenomenal! My wife and I can see the substantial progress our daughter has made since her first day. Her reading, writing and math skills have all vastly improved, and she receives high marks on her assessments.VRES and the PTA are heavily involved in providing access to extracurricular activities, after-school programs and family/community. events. We are constantly kept in the loop via emails. The school practices fire drills and lockdown drills often. They also have an on-site police officer, as well as security staff. I have not witnessed or heard of any issues pertaining to violence or discrimination. I do not have personal input on the special education offered at VRES. I also have not heard of any issues from other parents regarding this. We are very pleased overall and have high hopes that our daughter will continue to thrive at VRES!

Stay far away. There are too many better options in Westchester. The school has very weak/non-existent special education program. The sports teams and clubs are split into cliques by parents and coaches who enable said parents. The academics are generally weak, and parents are mostly not in the loop or engaged in the school unless they are in some strange standoffish clique.

Beautiful school with fantastic teachers and staff! The school is relatively new with a great gym.
