There are two floored walk-in attic storage spaces, one of which could be taken in as a 5th bedroom or office. The staircase to this area pauses on a loft-like landing, an absolutely perfect reading nook, that oversees the family room below, also with a 20-foot ceiling, exposed natural beams, gas fireplace, built-in French-pickled cabinet and shelving. Speaking of reading, you will be mesmerized by the library, which can be closed off for privacy by two sets of cypress pocket doors. Floor-to-ceiling windows, built-in cypress shelves and cypress crown molding and baseboards complete the elegant feel of this peaceful retreat. The interior decor and the custom drapes are by Jane Shelton. Other interior features include: 11-foot ceilings where they are not 20 feet; custom iron railings and bannisters; custom crown molding; recessed lighting; custom light fixtures in the kitchen and foyer; solid brass doorknobs and hardware. The exterior is highlighted by the 20 x 48 gunite pool with swim-out steps, brick apron and paver decking. But there is still plenty of lawn. All of this can be surveyed and enjoyed from the screened porch, with Old Virginia Brick flooring or one of the two rear wood decks. The cedar shake roof (valued at over $80,000) is just four years old. The flat roof over the garage and storage is only two years old. Other exterior features include iron and wood fencing; gorgeous landscaping; an irrigation system; outdoor lighting, custom iron railings on balconies; hinged redwood shutters and french drains.

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy experience at this school has been horrible. The principal, Ms. Ambrose, is very rude in her approach when dealing with parents. She may have had a better approach with other parents, but not with me. My son has been verbally threatened at this school and the teachers appeared to not be concerned because he is a boy. I don't think that is fair for my son. Girls can be bullies too and sometimes worse than boys. I also feel my son has been target and teachers "expect" him to act a certain way. There's supposed to be a police officer guarding the school. The security is poor.. I wouldn't give it a star but I have to give it one. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy oldest went to this school and now my youngest will addend this year. I love the fact that the 9th grade is separate from the 10th - 12th. This gives the students time to transition from Jr High to High School. It also will help them strive mentally, and it decreases the chance of bulling from the upper grades. CPSD is not prefect. But it is a community driven school district and it takes a Village. CPSD is thriving and creating young individuals that will make a difference in all of our futures. Sumner Hill JR High School is a great school and provides our children here in Clinton with the best Education one could ask for. I do wish there were more languages taught in the lower levels that would continue to high school. As long as there always open communication between the school and the parents our students will succeed.Parent Review1y ago
