Willard Elementary likes to bully children with special needs. They are aware of disabilities the child has but does the complete opposite when trying to "help" the child. They grab children and yell at them. Even those with PTSD which that behavior can make matters worse and the child's behavior worse. I would not recommend this school especially for special needs students

"I have had multiple encounters with my neighbors. They remain friendly and keep to themselves. Every once in awhile you will someone walking around that looks a little sus but I’ve had a good experience for the most part. "

"We are friendly with several of our neighbors, we have BBQ'S or have snacks with a few of them. They look out for our place, as we look out for theirs. We definitely watch the "druggies" that come and go from one house across the alley from us."

"I've lived here for almost 3 years with a friend. It's a crowded house, but we all love this neighborhood. There was only a few incidents that had me concerned, but they seem to have been isolated. Neighbors tend to look out for each other here, like the old days."

"It's a nice quiet neighborhood with lots of dogs all around. Some outside in fenced yards, and some inside. Some being walked around by their owners. There are sidewalks to walk on."

"Dogs in the neighborhood more than most. It is probably the oldest area in Des Moines so the houses aren't brand new but many have been updated and look beautiful"

"The commute is easy especially if you work downtown. There is great access to I-235 and I-80. West Des Moines and Clive area 15 minutes."

"I've been living here for over a year (with a friend), and have enjoyed it here. We are close to the stores and restaurants, and the Iowa State Fairgrounds. It's nice sitting out on the deck at night, other than the cars speeding down the street. "
