About this House

Fully furnished home. Nestled in a jewel of a neighborhood and uniquely situated with quick access to the airport, downtown, IH35, Ben White (290/71), South Congress, and the Hike-and-Bike Trail at Lady Bird Lake. The family-friendly neighborhood has a resident peacock that charms the locals with his evening strolls.

This house from 1987 has been revitalized with inspiration drawn from the original artist owners, the vibrant local wildlife, and the British Isles (where the most recent owner hails).

Includes a laundry room, entry closet, 2-car garage, spacious master bedroom closet, a backyard deck and separate backyard patio.

- The living area is open-plan with high ceilings and large picture windows to take in the trees and wildlife of the backyard. The kitchen has quartz countertops and new appliances. The dining space includes a vintage rattan dining table suitable for 4 topped with a capiz pendant light. The living room elicits a hygge atmosphere nestled between the brick fireplace (non-functioning) and leather couches with throw blankets for extra coziness. The large TV has Roku for streaming.

- The spacious principal suite includes a California King bed with a Saatva luxury mattress saddled by large nightstand dressers, a small television with Apple TV for late-night binges, and a large en suite bathroom.

- The principal bathroom was designed to feel masculine and spa-like. It's adorned with double sinks, a relaxing tub perfect for a bubble bath, a separate shower, and large walk-in closet.

- The second bedroom is peaceful and calming with a king-sized bed. But it wouldn't be an Austin home without authentic longhorn steer horns.

- The third bedroom is fitted with a full-sized bed, a vintage
midcentury-modern wood dresser, a drop-front antique secretary's desk, and a judges paneling accent wall inspired by the Barbican in London.

- The second bathroom at the end of the hall and conveniently located between the 2 guest rooms has a shower and shallow tub for easy access.

- The hallway has a mural designed by muralist Liz Kamarul

Local gems are Meanwhile Brewery, Pinthouse Brewing, 888 Pan Asian, Hai Ky, The Buzz Mill, Come and Take It Live, Emo's Austin, Cidercade, and McKinney Falls State Park.

"Interesting residential and commercial blend in neighborhood. Near highways, so easy travel. Multiple bus lines to get all over city. Grocery stores and restaurants are kind of walkable (~30 min), but a car would be better. Mabel Davis Park is beautiful."
  • Trulia User
"Smaller yards, Parker lane and oltorf are busy streets and people speed often. A lot of other dogs, often off leash, tend to roam the surrounding neighborhoods. However, Mabel Davis park right now the street is a beautiful trail and close to Roy Guerrero, and entrances to green belt"
  • Taylor S.
"Iโ€™ve lived in this neighborhood for a few months. Itโ€™s pretty quiet, the people are friendly but keep to themselves mainly. There is a nice park nearby."
  • Maddie p
"Itโ€™s pretty quiet and there are a lot of food spots. Thereโ€™s a park near by thatโ€™s very well maintained that I love. "
  • Jordanmlarue
"It's not a bad area, but it certainly has some rough spots. Lots of sirens, and it's a bit busy. But it's a good location in comparison to downtown and has a lot of different businesses within a mile. "
  • Kristina
"there are no community events in this neighborhood but there is a trail near by that is nice to go to with your dogs."
  • Charles O.
"there is a park skate park and swimming pool in the neighborhood. it's nice enough. not sure what else to say."
  • AJohnson
"We are an established Austin neighborhood. Both of my neighbors have lived here for over twenty years. I go to Mable Davis park with my family all the time. My kids love it."
  • Quashaun W.
"Any and all of the community events make the neighborhoods special. They bring so many people, younger and older, together. Many different nationalities amass to celebrate each otherโ€™s lives and the many diverse cultures and beliefs. "
  • Hollyp101010
"Iโ€™ve let bed in this neighborhood for three and a half years and I love it. Itโ€™s close to 35, Mopac, 290 and one exit from downtown. My neighbors are wonderful and everyone looks out for each other and are all very friendly good folks. I love the area."
  • Iovanka J. M.
"Great access to bus routes and the location is perfect. Easy short commute to zilker. Relatively close to everything, riverside, Lamar, downtown. Slaughter, barton creek mall. "
  • Krista B.
"Super close to downtown while still being affordable. So many houses being flipped and a really nice and large selection of apartments. I would recommend living here! "
  • Josie U.
"Well established neighborhood so close to downtown you can be there in 5-8 minutes. Great greenbelt and skate park."
  • Alf214
"This area is quickly changing. Antones and Emo's have now moved over to East Riverside. I think this area will be the new music and entertainment area for Austinites who want to be away from tourists and conventioneers. "
