"Harlem is unique because it is in the middle of transformation. Like the rest of the city, with more cultural icons coming from here than one can count."
  • Trulia User
"Brighton Beach is one of the most self-contained neighborhoods in New York. You don't need a car for daily life because public transportation is right under the elevated line, and stores line every block of Brighton Beach Avenue. The blend of quiet residential streets near the water and the bustling retail strip nearby makes it an absolute gem of a location. "
  • Jose nieves
"Safety is key in the neighborhood "
  • Vanesa Rajandaran
"Many of my neighbors have dogs and walk their dogs around all the time."
  • Murray, Ciara
"A lot of art and music. As well as farmers market. "
  • Mykalee Chambers
"Parking is hard to find "
  • Claude N
"This is Upper Glendale. It is a quiet neighborhoid. It has very little through traffic. It is located near Forrest Park. Most side streets are only 3-4 blocks long. Don't be fooled by those saying it is the 4th coolest neighborhood in the world. That would be neighboring Ridgewood. Both hasre the same zip code, but are vastly different. Ridgewood is mostly 3 family houses with no driveways and little on street parking. Most Upper Glendale houses have at least 1 off-street parking spot in their driveway. Most have garages. On street parking is rarely difhereficult."
  • Kendrabroo
"The many beautiful trees and close by shops."
  • Eliamacostaquezada70

"new York city can be a hard place to live with dogs, but around my location there are several parks. I would just be cautious of other dog owners due to the fact that some people don’t know personal space and some dogs can bite your dogs."
  • Gennady Zilberman

  • Nicole Hughes
"You can walk dogs freely, beautiful views, and friendly neighbors. Be safe out there folks and take your precautions "
  • Trulia User
"Lovely community that keeps on grounded. The garbage streets is improved as it seems more landlords are cleaning the street but there are spots that remain gross especially adjacent to empty lots or building construction areas. Most people are friendly to newcomers. Prospect park is a huge asset. I am impressed and pleased that NYC is taking care of and improving the park especially south of Lincoln ave. "
  • Zoe Patten
"Great commute for me I take all 3 transportation to and from locations depending on where I go and if I am traveling outside of my borough or state."
  • Lunamg61
"Park near by great for dog walking. Nature at its best many people feel the same and walk their dogs there. It’s safe and neighborhood is friendly "
  • Trulia User
"Great public transport. Ok to own a car here too. Commute is short. Walking possible. Subways not safe. "
  • David Varenne
"Sidewalks, plenty of trees, very pleasant to walk around. Everybody picks up after their dogs here. We don't usually see dogs without a leash"
