My son attends Ederly Heights Elemetary, I am highly disappointed in the lack of raising money for our school:( The middle school and high school Perry McClure are doing fundraiser s to raise money for the school! The PTO do not have activities that boys and girls are interested in that are in 2-4 grade:( I feel the PTO do not include parents in ideas for activies for our children. I feel the principal doesn't do anything for this school, I feel Mrs. Carol Koch is the only one that keeps this school running! If I had the money I would take my child out so he could go to school where the parents are involved and the teachers are able to teach our kids the way they want, it's not all about the PALS or SOL scores!

Terrible. I pulled my children out to homeschool because they were so miserable at Kling. I know several other families that did the same.

Our son was a student at ParryMcCluer through 9th grade. During those years, he was severely bullied/abused by a star athlete. He was not protected from the daily verbal, mental, & sometimes physical abuse, despite multiple complaints & approaches to teachers/coaches/administration. In fact, no action was taken until I produced a document stating the abusive events & demanded signatures from the school counselor & principal, letting them know "this was serious business." Following the official documentation, the bully received an in-house "restraining order," which was designed to eliminate the harassment our son was experiencing. The restraining order was moderately beneficial but far too late to prevent the damage to our son's self-esteem, confidence, & overall well-being. Nearly two years later he is still suffering from its effects. The bully was never dismissed from his athletic performances for poor student conduct, as his key wins were top priority to the administration/coaches. We were forced to homeschool our son to ensure his ultimate protection from bullying. Our family has never undergone such painful disregard & insult from a school as we did, here. The school posts signs & presents itself as an "anti-bullying" institution, but it is far from the truth. Athletes are given special privileges to ensure the school keeps its athletic reputation, which is the pride of this community. Other students, like our son, are given the shaft. Please carefully reconsider sending your child to this school if you've any concerns about bullying; it is not a safe place.

This school is a joke. They tell the kids not to come to them with their “problems” and say bullying is ok because they don’t pay attention or care. Fighting isn’t actually fighting, the kids are just playing. Kicked in the privates? Oh I’m sure it was just for fun. Absolute joke. Pulled my child out and am doing virtual school. He is so unbelievably far behind. The books he’s supposed to be reading is on par but the books at the middle school were for little kids. Luckily the virtual school told my son it wasn’t his fault the middle school failed him because he was very upset. I would never again send a child there ever.
