The principal and the school as a whole failed my child. A lot of “smoke & mirrors” to carry that “A rated” façade.

I’m a 7th grader at this school and it is my second year here. I think this school is pretty decent. They do great on safety as always have an officer on campus. We have special windows which people from outside can’t see in so only people inside the building can see out. Only we have ID cards which without it the door is locked without scanning. It may seem annoying that’s what I thought at first but if you think about it. Bad people can’t get inside the building if they don’t have the card. The admin can’t deactivate the card if it gets lost. This school also offers great clubs and sports. I participate in cross country and track. We won 1rst in County Championships for both sports. They also have a large amount of clubs you can sign up for.(I think like 20 smth) One of the clubs is BETA Club, this club can help you get volunteer hours for high school and may higher your chances into getting into a better university or college. The teachers here are great and they engage with the students. Although some teachers here are a bit strict like the Spanish teacher she actually teaches really good. The school admin is not my favorite though. Whenever I email the principal she doesn’t reply she just forwards the email to another staff member. My main complaint against them is about not letting us sit outside during lunch. We have a outdoor patio like area for lunch but they have restricted us from sitting there for a year already. Students here are engaged in problems as we created a petition at one points with about 300 students signing it but the admin simply ignored it. The teachers here are great not so much as the admins.This school has many opportunities for classes a few of them are STEM Research, TV Production (School News), and choir. I am not sure if they actually check the bully box, but I know they give fooling around students detentions or referrals. They do set some ridiculous restrictions though such as not being able to get up 10 mins before the bell rings at lunch. You can’t go to the restroom 5 mins before every class transition. Some teachers are not as nice to letting you use the restrrom compared to others. You also have only 4 mins to walk to your next class in which our campus is pretty big. This causes my to run/speed walk to my next class as they are on the opposite side of the campus. When the student council(ran primarily by good kids) try’s to make events for the students the admin always favors the PTSA more than the student body.

Hagerty has excellent academic options for students from general courses to AP courses. The staff keeps families well informed about activities, testing, schedules, and additional assistance opportunities even providing a weekly email of information and activities. Our son never had a problem connecting with his teachers or guidance counselors when needed. Hagerty boasted 162 honor graduate students in this year's senior class (2025) and more than 600 graduates. Additionally, the fine arts program is exceptional! Winning many Superior ratings across marching band, jazz band, symphonic/wind/concert band, dance, theater, choir, and art, there are so many opportunities for expression. I also felt the student population was fairly diverse. I highly recommend this school.
