I am a currently an eighth grader and have been attending this school my whole life. Since kindergarten, I have experienced great things at this school, but there are many things wrong with the community and staff that is hidden by wealthy and nosy parents. At the beginning of this year, a very hateful comment was written about the current P.E. teacher, including the n-word. We had an assembly about it, that was very moving, but shortly after it was like the entire school forgot about it. Parents. This has been a problem since I was very young and noticed it at a small age. Parents of students will pour their paychecks into this school. They will stay in classrooms and just watch like it is totally normal. Some parents will still volunteer after their student has left the school. Teachers. I have had numerous teachers say rude things to me, telling me I would never have the ability to do certain tasks, and forget about an entire class. This is all put aside and forgotten about. The staff is usually very welcoming and kind but I have numerous occasions feeling unwanted or mistreated by the staff. This school is the next thing up from a private school. I completely understand if this type of school if for you, but if you have the same sort of free, creative spirit that many students do, I suggest another school
