Overall, New Dorp is a good school. Most people there are nice. However, the school does not give the necessary information on gradation requirements. Not many people know that 100 hours of community service is needed to graduate. I did not know either until someone told me. All they said was 44 credits are a requirement. The school should tell you that service hours are mandatory. There are students in 11th grade who do not know about the hours. I mean no harm in this review, I just wanted to bring awareness to this. bunch of kids in the school are blatantly racist, even infront of teachers yet no one cares, teachers have favorites, the teachers barely care about you, alot of fights that only the teachers stop during the fight and not before or after the fights and barely give any repercussions so they just do it again.

This school is very supportive. I had some concerns but with communication my concerns were all addressed which is much appreciated. This school has been working hard on the extra curricular activities including principal book club, test prep for my third grader. Hiphop classes!! Also the spirit week and special dress days my children love!
