I’m a student currently and have been in the district for a while and I’ll say it blatantly that if you are white, wealthy, straight, cis and athletic then you’ll probably do just fine. If not then it’s a 50/50, the students are sometimes cool, most times racist, homophobic, trans phobic, the whole nine yards. I know I’ve been called slurs for just walking in the halls, and the school doesn’t seem to do anything about it. Most of the time it’s just a slap on the wrist. Teachers will turn on you quickly, but I have had and met many really cool teachers that are enthusiastic about what they teach and genuinely enjoy it. Other teachers will make your life somewhat hellish. Do yourself a favor and don’t get involved with the counselors. Most of them don’t care about you, keep your business to yourself. If you have mental health issues then the school is also pretty hellish. That was a lot of negatives but the school offers a lot for sports, music, etc. they do genuinely have a good curriculum but it tends to just be a negative environment in general. Again, like I said before there is a bias towards white, wealthy, athletic kids.
