I’m very disappointed with the communication at Valley View Elementary School. My son is a special education student, and there has been very little communication with me as his parent.On his first day of school, I messaged his teacher to ask how his day went and whether he was able to eat anything for lunch. I knew he did not eat the lunch I packed for him, so I wanted to make sure he was able to eat something else at school. I sent the message yesterday, and as of today, I still have received no response.I also have not been introduced to or spoken with his speech teacher or occupational therapist, and I don’t even know who they are. As a parent, I feel I should know who is working with my child and be able to communicate with the staff supporting him.I understand teachers are busy, but communication is especially important when your child has an IEP and special needs. I am very disappointed that I have not received basic information about how my son is doing at school.
