About this House

Thoughtfully renovated, this Church Hill gem blends historic elegance with modern updates. The yard's iron gate opens to a simple garden of boxwoods and hydrangeas, and a brick walkway leads to a columned front porch. Refinished original double doors welcome you into a foyer lit by a 1920s French Art Deco fixture; the beautifully restored front staircase will make any preservationist’s heart swoon. Yet what really sets 2711 E. Grace Street apart is a main floor featuring wonderful flow from each room to the next, starting with a parlor showcasing an original oak fireplace mantel with new gas insert. Restored pocket doors lead you to the second parlor (or possible formal dining room) with a handsome original mantel and new gas insert, plus Machine Age light fixture and sconces. The kitchen gleams with custom cabinetry, a dual fuel range, under cabinet lighting, and quartzite countertops. Relax at the island or follow the bright breezeway to the back of the house, where you’ll find a renovated powder room with vintage details, and a spacious family room currently serving as an office. Mindful touches extend to the shady screen porch, added in 2022, and the low-maintenance, fully fenced backyard. Upstairs, four bedrooms, a laundry, and a private balcony tucked among the treetops deliver both comfort and style. The cleverly designed primary suite has gorgeous natural light, a walk-in closet, and a large bathroom with marble tile. The antique armoire in the hall bath is truly a showstopper and conveys with the house.
New crown molding throughout, plus recently added millwork, a tankless water heater, new duct work, updated plumbing and electrical, and restored windows add to this brick beauty’s appeal. Just a quick stroll to Libby Park, Riverbend Coffee, Grisette, and everything this very special neighborhood has to offer.

"Extremely close to downtown and 95 without being right in the middle of the city. 15 minutes to chesterfield or short pump "
  • Danielle A.
"Church Hill is a quiet but lively neighborhood with a ton of community and culture. I love that it has the benefits of a city (stores, restaurants, parks, etc) but still has a neighborhood feel. There's always something or some event going on and we love that we can walk to everything we need to. "
  • Karilege
"Love the multicultural community, great restaurants, walkabilty, public transportation, and history of the neighborhood. "
  • Peter B.
"Far on hi way way out to the suburbs. A lot of good jobs are in the West End and you definitely need a car to get anywhere. "
  • Ziegfred D.
"no parking, people are not friendly to minorities, people does not clean up after their dog, restaurant does care about their trash and parking "
  • Sarah S.
"Easy access to the Pulse and GRTC buses. Walkable to Shockoe Slip and even downtown. Easy access to the interstates though it gets a little congested once you go down the hill toward Shockoe Bottom and the on ramps."
  • Sarahk
"Centrally located, mixed-income area, lots of nonprofits, friendly neighbors but also gentrifying quickly and becoming unaffordable"
  • Sarahk
"Friendly neighbors in a mixed income area; lots of stuff to do within walking distance; close to gas stations and the highway; walking distance to downtown Richmond, MCV, the river and the bottom; on the bus line; stores like Walmart, Lowe’s, grocery, etc. within two miles; some petty property thefts, but not really an issue if you lock your car and track your packages!"
  • mslf500
"Skyline and river views, a great little park and plenty of dining opportunities within walking distance make this area a great neighborhood."
  • Fburroughs
"I work in an office located 5 minutes from this area and I have renovated a home in this area. The 600 block of N 33rd St. is located 5 minutes from the Virginia Commonwealth University and VCU/MCV Hospital. Interstates 95 and 64 are also located just five minutes away. There is a nice Mall (White Oak Mall) located less than 10 minutes away in Eastern Henrico County with "big box" stores such as Lowes Home Improvement, J. C. Penney, Target, Martins Grocery, etc. along with restaurants such as Long Horn Steak House, Olive Garden, TGIF Fridays, Steak & Shake, etc. Public Transporation (GRTC) from the neighborhood is located one block away from N 33rd St. on Chimborazzo BLVD. There is also a Grocery store located just one block away from N 33rd St. The James River is within "walking distance" (approximately 15 minutes) from the 600 block on N. 33rd St. On the street parking is not a problem and there is alley access to the rear of the homes and ample room for off-street parking on each homes' lot located on the 600 block of N. 33rd Street. There is a dog park located with walking distance from the 600 block of N. 33rd St. as well as some restaurants, bars, parks."
