After several years in the Newport School District, our family has decided to move on. While there are some dedicated teachers and staff members who genuinely care about students, our overall experience at Newport High School left us disappointed.We found that opportunities for students often felt limited, and there seemed to be a lack of focus on preparing students for life beyond graduation. Communication was inconsistent, and at times it felt like families had to fight to have their concerns heard.One of our biggest frustrations was watching young people leave the area because they didn't see enough opportunities to build a future here. Newport is a community with a lot of potential, but attracting and retaining younger families requires strong schools, investment in students, and a vision for the future.This review reflects our personal experience, and others may feel differently. We are grateful for the teachers who supported our children along the way, but ultimately we felt it was time to seek new opportunities for our family elsewhere.
