Even when I made an appointment to see the principal so I could report being jumped in the bathroom to the point I was covered in bruises, I was told by both the principal and teachers that "no one likes a tattle-tale". My homeroom teacher even asked me if I'd ever considered that I had brought it all on myself through my "tattling". I recall the many sleepless nights and even suicide ideation. "Regardless of how safe the neighborhood is generally, it is better to always keep doors locked, both house and car. People from outside the neighborhood like to come and walk around in the middle of the night in the hopes that car doors are unlocked and this is happened a number of times throughout the years. "
