My kid and I both love this school. Before coming to Shadowlawn we had a horrible experience at the previous school and had experienced bullying by the staff including the principal. Before starting at Shadowlawn I had called around to different schools trying to make sure we were not going from one horrible experience to another. The principal at Shadowlawn was the complete opposite from what we were coming from. She was very helpful, answered all of my questions and was a complete pleasure to speak with. I knew I wanted my kid to go to Shadowlawn but was told they were full. Thankfully because of my kids special needs they were able to make room and allow to attend. It's so hard to believe that was 5 years ago. I am very thankful every day that he is at Shadowlawn. The principal and the whole staff are amazing. They care about all the kids, know them by first name, and are so positive. I am not going to say everything is perfect. There are always a few bumps and a few who staff who were not the right fit with my kid but that is going to happen. Through it all the principal has been amazing even when we didn't agree. Which is why I have paid to have an advocate help not only for my kid but for myself, the teachers and school. Ours has been a true blessing in helping them understand my kid but also speaking their language of teachers and the programs they use. The Principal and staff have welcomed the advocate making it easier for all of us. I have spoken to many parents at Shadowlawn and within the county as many special needs parents do and without a doubt all of the parents at Shadowlawn love our principal and staff.
