"Long drive to shop in the Springs and all roads here are washboard and dusty. Noticed a lot of traffic over the 4th of July weekend."
  • Cody
"This area is great for dogs, there’s so many trails that are accessible with dogs and there’s lots of dog parks just about 45 mins away around manitou and Colorado Springs! Definitely recommend bear creek dog park!"
  • Judyth-johanna J. G.
"I use private transportation, the only public transportation there is around here would be the Taxi service, which you would have to call about an hour or two in advance. "
  • Judyth-johanna J. G.
"honestly not many, we just keep to ourselves. That's possibly what I like about this neighborhood and community. The events are in the surrounding major towns. "
  • Lowmantom
"There are no sidewalks and children should play in their yards or at local parks. There are great local areas to hike, climb and explore."
  • Lowmantom
"I do not have to commute; I am retired. Ten minute drive to grocery store; 20 minute drive to larger town with other amenities...all through the mountains on two lane paved road. "
  • dave16200
"we have many comunity events in a setting with mountain views and a variety of wildlife......what a place to be!! 😁😊 "
  • Prithdparamedic
"It's beautiful, it stays relatively cool in the summer and is relaxing. I done care for living here though. If the house was different maybe. But I REALLY don't like being at least 30 min from anything! "
  • Lowmantom
"I have lived in this area for one year. I like the peace and quiet, proximity to state and national parks, and the wildlife. "
  • Prithdparamedic
"Secluded, near the Florissant Fossil beds national park, in the mountains, wildlife everywhere. Deer, turkeys, elk. "
  • Corbyandjen
"Florissant is one of my favorite places to be. I own a cabin in the mountains that I look forward to being at every chance I get. It's less than an hour drive from Colorado Springs, yet I feel like I'm on vacation every weekend. If you are they type of person that loves to be in the mountains, and enjoy nature, this is EXACTLY the place for you. But don't tell everyone, it'll ruin it for the rest of us. "
  • tamipeterson408
"Lived here for 7 years very beautiful and peaceful."
  • Lenore H.
    "Friendly neighborhood, good location"
  • mcdarijl
"I love living in Florissant, it is equally accessible to Woodland Park and Cripple Creek. The library is fantastic along with a city park and baseball field. There are four places to get food and two convenience stores, a post office, pet groomer, feed store, museum, fire department, Florissant grange and the community has events periodically. There is also a local bar with live entertainment at times. Lake George is only 4 miles to the west. It is quiet and friendly with wonderful neighbors and lots of wildlife. Lovely area to live and raise a family."
  • Gwaltneykitchen
"Valley High Estates is a wonderful, quiet neighborhood with NO HOA to control what you do with YOUR property in the mountains. Only about 18 miles from Woodland Park. Lots of Hiking, biking and outdoor activities available!"
