The school has great outlets for small groups when kids need extra help on school!

K-M High School is probably one of the most racial hostile and outwardly homophobic schools in Minnesota. During my time there I witnessed white students yelling racial slurs at Black students in the hallway and derogatory use of homophobic slurs (on a daily basis) gone unacknowledged by an administrator who was there to monitor student behavior. Additionally, this school specifically and intentionally violates Minnesota State Statute HF 4394 by refusing to use students' preferred names upon graduation both when announcing names and on student's diplomas. Combined, this makes the school strongly hostile to students who fall under the LGBTQ+ umbrella.

Our child was bullied to the point of becoming suicidal. The administration’s response? “Try to stay away from the bully.” The cruelty escalated to making threats against our child and our family including showing our child an image of our home on Google maps and saying “I know where you live and I have a friend who likes to start fires.” The administration’s response? NOTHING. Transferred our child to a new school and within two weeks we saw massive improvements in their mental health and academic performance.
