2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter is special needs and attended this school for summer exploration. There were days she wouldn’t return home with their backpack and the staff couldn’t find it until days later. For there to be such a small student to teacher ratio, her belongings shouldn’t have been that hard to find with as many teachers there were. The staff knew my daughter was non verbal but still issues like this were happening and she would come home with injuries and the school would sometimes not have any clue how some of the injuries happened when I would ask about them. When I alerted the principal about this, she was very rude and seemed to instead prioritize defending herself and staff and showed little to no emotion for my concerns that I had about my daughter during this program which is an awful feeling as a parent. I think this school could benefit from much better communication between parents and staff and more training with special needs children and their behaviors. Hoping this school improves in the future.Parent Review11mo ago7 Reviews - Polytechnic High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school just disappointed me in many ways. The way that they are teaching my kid in school is very off to me. My kid isn't paying attention for a reason—a reason that the school doesn't want to hear at all! My kid doesn't feel safe in that school. The two-sided ladies who worked in the office were completely rude. The energy in there is so negative. I wouldn't recommend any children to go to this dirty school, the strict rules won't change anything after all. It is the same old boring school. DO BETTER!Other Review1y ago9 Reviews - University Heights Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagein my opinion SOME supervisor (ms Hilda, ms Abear, ms Newton, and Mr Tony)are the only ones who I feel care than the actual teachers and principals, all they care about is getting the work done, and of course it’s needed but I’d rather them care about my child’s mental health than her Turing an assignment late, my child’s barely even wanted to go to school because the teachers and other staffs did not show they cared and just push it to the side. She begged to be homeschooled all year and it hurt to see my child didn’t want to be at a school where i thought I could trust to make my child feel safe and happy to be there. This school doesn’t know how to help other students with tempter and they say they do all they can but in reality there tired of the kids and js do what ever to shut them up. I do appreciate the staff I mentioned in the beginning because they made my child feel wanted and heard when she needed help but unfortunately they couldn’t do more than what they could bc of there position. But i appreciate them being there for my child and making her laugh when she had rough days.Parent Review9mo ago5 Reviews - Check out schools near 2624 4th St.

"Lots of gang activity and shots heard. Not a good place to raise a family. I wouldn’t leave anything on my porch either, it would get stolen by the meth heads and homeless population that roams the streets."
