About this House

Rent this beautifully renovated, freshly updated house in Third Ward! Originally built in 1930, this classic brick bungalow underwent a seven-month, down-to-the-studs renovation in 2014. The house was just updated again this year. As part of that update, the walls and ceilings in every room were repainted; the doors and windows were re-sealed; and the landscaping was redone. The Home: The home was taken down to the studs and completely rebuilt from the foundation up in 2014. The living room features an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings, recessed lighting, lots of windows, and rich, smoky hickory-colored hardwood floors. The living room is open to the kitchen which features white granite countertops, marble backsplash, stainless steel appliances, a five-burner range, and even a wine cooler. Both bedrooms have vaulted ceilings and recessed lighting; remote-controlled fans; walk-in closets; and hardwoods. Each bed has its own bath. The master bath has a jacuzzi tub, his/her sinks, and a rainwater shower, while the secondary bathroom has beautiful tile work, marble floors, and a basin sink. The home comes equipped with a security system. The home has a great front porch, a security fence with remote-control iron gate, and a two-car carport. The yard is well-landscaped, with flower beds in the shade of large live oak trees. The Location: The Washington Terrace section of Third Ward is located around Emancipation Street between Southmore and Cleburne Streets, just across 288 from midtown/museum district. From the house, you can easily walk to bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and other businesses; gallery showings at Project Row Houses; or the campuses of TSU and U of H. The Columbia Tap Rail Trail runs within blocks of the house, so biking is a great option. By bike or car you're within 1 mile of midtown, 1.5 miles of Texas Medical Center, and 2 miles of Rice University. The Logistics: The home is available for 12 or 18 month leasing options. You'll need to submit to a background and credit check, and will need to provide proof of income adequate for rent. I require a security deposit equal to one month's rent. Pets on a case by case basis, with additional security. The home is great for families, but also for young professionals and roommates. In roommate situations, all parties are required to submit to background and credit checks. If you're interested, please send me an email with some information about you and your needs. The house comes with a washer and dryer. Water/sewer/trash included in rent. Tenant is responsible for gas, electricity, and lawn care. Thanks! I look forward to hearing from you!

"I've lived in Third Ward for four years now. It has changed a lot, and i think it will continue to become more gentrified. Yes, there still are a lot of gun shots heard throughout the month, but i've never heard of any being fired at innocent by standards... i've enjoyed living here, and love the history of the area, and the people i've lived by who have been hospitable, kind, and courteous."
  • Laurenscoring
