"Beautiful homes, great landscaping, safe!, can run, walk, ride bikes etc. people of all ages live around here. The club and Poole are beautiful. The Golf Course is well maintained. The roads are good. There are some potholes though. People drive the speed limit through the neighborhoods."
  • Nitalovesk
"It is a great place to raise kids and the neighbors are friendly. The schools are very diverse. There are slight differences in the subdivisions "
  • Carrie Murray
"It is very safe. There is no thru traffic in the sub sections. The homes are beautiful and owners take good care of their property. I have lived there since 2014 and have always felt safe. The walking trails are amazing. The club and pool are awesome if you want to join. "
  • Sidneydeon Curtis
"I haven’t been to any yet. However it is a very family friendly area. With lots of shopping and family friendly things to do."
  • Drdk7dnpxg
"Well taken care of community and homes have space between them so you don’t feel on top of your neighbors. "
  • ydnac.ellajat
"Clean and quiet, friendly neighborhoods. Close to shopping center and freeway! Great place to raise a family. "
  • Marquita Riley
"The area of Elgin where I currently reside, is quiet and I can literally count the number of cars that passes my home on any given day. My neighborhood is laid-back and I feel comfortable when I'm at home. And, I have some of the kindest neighbors that I've ever had."
  • Marquita Riley
"Quiet. There are a number of dogs in the area but they aren’t loose. This neighborhood feels like home."
  • Hannah Colson
"Dogs are welcomed and loved throughout the neighborhood. We have 2 and they love it here. Plus most dog owners clean up."
  • Southernblonde5
"No sidewalks to walk dogs but most people are courteous enough to slow down while driving past people out walking their animals. However there are also several people who do not respect speed limits and drive way too fast for comfort. Not only on the back roads (which are usually 45-50 mph), but even in some of the neighborhoods too which are marked at 35 mph or slower. So it just depends on the specific area. Also it’s the country so people let their pets roam free which can occasionally cause issues for those walking leashed dogs. "
  • Southernblonde5
"Friendly small town feel. Nice quiet neighborhoods where a family can feel safe. Good schools, but definitely limited on activities for kids such as parks etc. "
  • Josibel0609
"Neighborhood celebrate get together, different activities ! Celebration in a hotel too! Information activities too!"
  • Cory W.
"Elgin has the catfish stomp, Lugoff lights, and multiple events throughout the year to keep its residents entertained. It’s students and community members normally organize and preform "
  • Tina
"This is a great location to live in. It’s convenient to shopping and the interstate. There are parks and a farmers market nearby."
  • Jennifer
"There isn’t a dog park and there are not many dogs in our specific subdivision. I don’t own pets and I honestly don’t know what dog owners would like and not like about our neighborhood."
  • Treeg10
"Ive lived here for 16 years. This neighborhood is very friendly and we all care about each other. We take care of our properties and we will take care of our neighbors property when they are hurt or ill. Everyone rides golf carts and walks their dogs. It’s really great. "
  • Michelle N.
"It’s peaceful, quiet, and law enforcement surround this area. Everyone is friendly and family oriented"
  • Treeg10
"I’ve lived here for 17 years and I live this area. The people are good here and it’s a very family friendly neighborhood. "
  • Mel J.
"As with any neighborhood, watch out for the creeps. They don’t seem as common out here but you never know anymore. "
  • Melissa R.
"they're allowed. I have mine in a nice environment. on the back patio screened in in a large kennel. shaded. easy to keep clean. hes out of the heat. and the bugs cant get to him. he cant get into the ant killer I put down outside his pen. easy to bathe him. bugs dont get in his food. he has his own little living area. and that's one of the big things I'm looking for when buying a home. during the winter I can close it off to the winter elements and heat it. he has a house and bed. and plenty of room to play with all his toys and it gave him room to get to know my niece. I'm so glad his able to be apart of our family."
  • Alicia S.
"I see people walking their dogs. Plenty of space to walk, jog, enjoy the scenery with or without your fur baby."
  • Alicia_sharpe

  • Blacknblue42
"a lot of people like to let their pups roam leashless. it's a safe community but watch out for bad apples. meaning people not animals. "
  • Williams f. c. 9.
