This school hasn't changed a bit since I was a student 20 or so years ago. Teachers still have their favorites and they don't hide it. If you come from money, you're good. If you're white, you're good. If you're an athlete, also good. Anything in between, be prepared. They do nothing about the bullying that goes on, in any of the 3 buildings. It's easier to ignore it than the fix it and admit there is a problem. The pretend to have not been informed of such bullying. When a 4 year old just starting kindergarten is bullied by a 5th grader, and the school does nothing until said 4 year old gets off the bus with a black eye and bloody nose, says a lot about the staff as a whole ( and to be honest, the school didn't resolve the issue until the 4 year olds parent hopped on the bus to talk to the 10 year old about bullying, then they gave the kid a warning. Which never stopped him, the bullying has continued year after year)Some teachers have very little respect for the kids they teach ( high school and middle school), and will "pick on" kids in class. The guidance councilors claim to have the kids back, but turn around and do nothing when they need help.The nurses are great, although they send kids home from school whenever they go into the office, regardless of the reason.And when a problem does arise, the school and staff will do everything in their power to make sure they twist and turn over heard conversations, lie about communication and make the student and / or the parent to be the issue. If your child falls behind and you make suggestions, don't bother, the school doesn't follow through. Some of the staff are absolutely wonderful, but most, they are there for the pay check , hazard pay and bonuses for showing up during a pandemic. The elementary school Is great, most of the teachers and staff are amazing. Some, again, are dishonest and will manipulate conversations and stories to what is best for them, not the child. For this reason and the many listed above ( and the above isn't even half of it), my husband and myself have begun the search to purchase a new home outside this district and are looking into home schooling our kids, just to get them out of that toxic environment.

Elementary school changed my child’s mind about school. We moved from New Hartford and even though they were great, my son felt more comfortable, welcomed and accepted in Sauquoit school. From the secretary to the principal, the staff are the sweetest.
