2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter is going into 7th grade and her first year at EDMS was great! She had EXCELLENT teachers and the Principal and staff were so welcoming and supportive. It's middle school - which is literally the worst - but, overall my daughter made great friends, learned new things, and excelled! There were a couple of issue with other students, but admin was quick to help and make things better. I appreciated the time they took to listen and respond. It has to be hard, and they handled everything very well. We're glad we're at EDMS!Parent Review9mo ago - Holbrook Language Academy

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhile I was in doubt the first few years whether the dual immersion would work and my kids would learn Spanish (I am an ESL myself and my standards on acquiring language are very high), my doubts disappeared when my older kid gave a speech at her 5th grade promotion. She wrote it herself, she got up there and spoke in front of all the parents and teachers and she was amazing. Having other parents and educators, who are fully fluent in Spanish, congratulate us on her amazing language skills was a testament to this program's truly working. She frequently presents in Spanish, her comprehension is incredible, and her vocabulary as well. I am impressed! Also, don't be fooled by the overall rating- this is a truly mixed school, many students are just learning English which means that they can't test as high as English speakers. My daughter has been constantly exceeding state testing (CAASPP, CAST, LEXQUAN) - in all areas.I wish our school had more funding, but this is a district/ state/ federal issue. As far as our school - my kids are thriving and best of all language skills are such superpowers that will be with them their entire time.Parent Review2mo ago - Mt. Diablo High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI love this school, just came there and Im an freshman. Rgeardless people are going to say this is a bad school. IT IS NOT. They are very welcoming and nice. They have JROCT, cooking, Public speaking or Debate team/class and more. MUptiple luages classes like French, Spanish and Mandorian chinnise. Tons of sports Football, basketball, tenniss and volleyball track too! The techers are pretty nice they tey to help out as much as they can just ask them. The food her is AWSOME. For kids who have food issues they let anyone and everyone get as much as they need/want they should know the limits. Bring your kid here its awsome!!!Student Review2y ago - Check out schools near 2555 Hamilton Ave.

"I’ve lived here 7 years and our neighbors watch out for each other. There are lots of renters and very few homeowners. The HOA is power hungry and run by the same ridiculous people every year. "

"Downtown concord is very family friendly with free summer concerts in the park, farmers markets, and food trucks certain nights of the week. "

"I work from home, so I can’t really speak to what the commute is like from where I live. I imagine getting from Concord to San Fran or Oakland for work would be a nightmare. Rush hour traffic going to and from the city is miserable. If I do travel, I plan to travel around rush hour traffic. It’s tough going through Walnut Creek as well. "

"All of my neighbors I can see from my front porch have lived in their houses for over 20 years. We have a very old, settle feel in our neighborhood. A place where people look out for one another. You always see the same people walking their dogs or kids riding their bikes."
