4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSpecial needs child, these teachers are some of the most hateful women I have ever had the dishonor of meeting. One teacher thought she could bully me and informed me that she wasn't sure if she could continue teaching my child, I replied like he has to leave the school, she said he needs a school who can meet his needs, I said cool this district gets to pay for that, she starts saying well no. Realized I am not the one, he stayed, following year SSDD. Hopefully the middle school pays better so can get better teachers and give these kids a chance. Yearly the school has to be told about my sons heart surgery cause they didn't go through his chest and the non medically trained school staff decided he didn't have a surgery, if they checked his groin I would be concerned. My son has minimal issues since surgery but this came to light when they were asking about what time he goes to bed opposed to maybe after sprinting this kid with a heart condition should see the nurse. Safety is a joke, so is actual teachers tho just a circus for angry people to collect checks!Parent Review2mo ago11 Reviews - Vikan Middle School

"Its a small town that offers so much but yet gives such a calm environment. I will definitely say this is where I will be raising my children "

"We have three dogs and often walk them around the neighborhood. We often see other dogs with their owners walking around the neighborhood and everyone seems to be friendly. There are plenty of dog stations with poop bags throughout the neighborhood."

"Neighborhood school is within safe walking distance, 0.2 miles and is a large k-8; new super King Sooper down the road is very nice, nail salon, and Papa Murphys all within 1/4 mile; established neighborhood with more mature trees than surrounding developments."

"Closer access to the light rail would be ideal. I would prefer to take that to work but I would either need many bus transfers or have to drive almost to my work. Also, there needs to be a more direct way to Pena Blvd without having to pay the tolls. "

"It has a small town flavor, but there's lots to do. Also it's close enough to Denver to go into the big city for events or clubbing, fancy restaurants, etc without it being a hassle. "

"There are a lot of neighbors walking their dogs regularly. There are little to no loud barking dogs in any of the neighborhoods, and from what I can tell, everyone picks up after their dogs."

"It's not unique anymore it's over crowded, they build too many house but don't update the roads, they keep building even though the schools are overcrowded. Everyone's taxes are jumping sky high to pay for all the city maintenance fees for the new stuff. Our older community is suffering. I grew up in Brighton, and as an adult I have married and established my life here. I feel pushed out from this new growth, it's disgusting. I wouldn't raise a child here, i wouldnt put them in the school system. "

"Great community with friendly people and lots of community services. Brighton has the feel of a small town even though it is a popular and growing city. Lot s of places to eat and things to do in town. You are close to nature but have the benefit of being 10 minutes away from DIA and 20 minutes to downtown Denver."
