5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is terrible. Some people make a genuine effort, but it is just too disorganized. There is not enough support for teachers, not enough classroom management, and not enough effort made in communicating with families. If you can help it, send your child somewhere else.Parent Review8y ago5 Reviews - Ps 85 Great Expectations

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI attended this school when i was in kindergaden through 5th grade and i honestly can say they were the best 6 years of my school life. I still wish i can go back in time and live those years a little more. The teachers were great some of them showed tough love and were strict but it helped me. I'm now a senior in H.s and still live 2 blocks away I pass through the school every morning to take the bus to my H.S and I can say that its not the school who arent paying attention to the kids but also the parents. Dont motivate your kids I hear some young kids talking about wanting to cut school , It's a 50/50 responsibility when it comes to learning theres school to learn in then theres home training , and the ones i seen definately do not have home training. Maybe if as parents you would help your kids out and not depend on teachers to do everything like also helping the kids with the home work everything would be good. My step siblings are coming from DR this summer to live here in Ny and im trying to Convince my dad to enroll them in Ps.85 thats how much i love and enjoyed the school. Everytime i walk by its a trip to memory lane with a smile on my faceOther Review13y ago6 Reviews - Theatre Arts Production Company School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI'll make this short and simple, the school is trash. DO NOT send your children here. They don't care about the students unless they have good grades and offer no support they won't even let seniors with an average below 85 apply to SUNYS because they don't think it's worth it. They have a mice problem and had a shooting outside of the school. They barely teach the kids anything at all and never ever try and reach out to them or their parents. overall this school is a 0/10 and I would not recommend it.Parent Review4y ago4 Reviews - Check out schools near 254 E 184th St #2E.

"I don't live in this area myself, but my aunt has lived there for over 30 years and I visit her frequently, so I know quite a bit about the area. There are a lot of families and a few parks for kids, pets and space to throw outdoor parties. The parks are typically clean and the area is pretty quiet. there's many stores and places to buy any necessities. Overall a great place to live and raise a family. "

"Parents should know that their children are entitled to good schools. The city has money. All they need to know is to apply. Find bilingual school counselors. Otherwise, kids can be misguided & lost to illicit drugs or alcohol. Parents should stay in focus mode."

"2406 Webster Ave is horrible. They rent out the backyard for parties that go on weekdays and weeknights til 5am or 6am. They have complete disregard to the people who live here. Believe it or not, there are still some decent people who get up early to go to work. "
