10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a graduate of Mountain Brook within the past 4 years, I have quite a bit to say about the school, as well as the community. On the whole, the school is most definitely above average. The academics are great. Those who struggle receive help, those who already excel are challenged. The faculty is great for the most part besides a few teachers that have tenure and really should be let go. The number of AP classes offered is tremendous and the number of National Merit Finalist and Semi-Finalists is impressive. The administration is fantastic, and they really try to work with parents and students. However, there is definitely a sense of cliquiness amongst the students and fitting in is not the easiest thing and hinders your mental growth and development-- & your parent's pocketbook. Just note if you are looking for a homogenous, non-diverse, judgmental, upper middle class area, you will definitely find it in Mountain Brook.Other Review14y ago1 Reviews - Mt Brook Jr High School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son was there for 7 & 8th grade and really thrived there. My husband's job moved us out of state & we now realize what a wonderful school we left. I feel like he really learned manners & respect that will stay with him forever.Parent Review9y ago3 Reviews - Mt Brook Elementary School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved our kids into the school system from a private school. They made an easy transition, and I found the academics just as challenging. I did not grow up in Alabama, but everyone was very welcoming. A great sense of community- amazing teachers, counselors and administrationOther Review3y ago6 Reviews - Check out schools near 2532 Montevallo Rd.

"Mountain Brook is 99.9% Caucasian. Crime is low. Schools are the best in AL. Most people here self identify as Christian’s, Republicans, and upper class. The community is tight knit and resembles one big sorority/fraternity system. Everyone desires to fit in. "

"No sidewalks or dog parks or trails for dog walking and playing. I have a cute pug dog named Yoda. She tries to chase bike riders"
