3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is in 1st grad and 3times since starting Kindergarten , that I know of he’s been harmed or attacked and I didn’t know until days later. First incident he was riding the bus as a kindergarten and bigger kids attacked him. The second time his knees were skinless from falling from running on sidewalk(he told me) from bus, no note no update. The most recent time (2weeks ago) a parent text me and informed me she was sorry her son hurt my son , I was confused because the school never informed me of any incident and my son went to bed early the night prior so we didn’t talk about his day. Well I asked him later that day once parent informed me and she was right, her son threw a chair at my kid and when speaking to the Principal she stated nothing happened, to it didn’t touch him, to days later, confirmed it barely touched him. Smh. Very disheartening to know my child is not safe at school and without being connected to the community and keeping in touch with parents I would’ve never known because as a kid sometimes you forget and in our case he didn’t want me upset , he said.Parent Review1mo ago5 Reviews - Armstrong High School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageArmstrong High School is full of caring teachers and students who are willing and want to learn, unfortunately, there are always a few students, who make it bad, for the school as a whole. What would really make the school better, is to just put the kids who are disrespectful, violent and ignorant beyond measure out! Stop tolerating their foolishness, so the teachers can teach, and the students can learn. It is time to make the students and parents more accountable, and stop putting the total blame on teachers. As a parent, I have been inside Armstrong and seen teachers go the extra mile, with their time, patience and their money, to help the students. Armstrong isn't a perfect school, but it has the potential to be a great school, with the right support from the parents, students and the community.Parent Review12y ago4 Reviews - Check out schools near 2510 E Broad St.

"The neighborhood is convenient to downtown, well maintained, warm and welcoming. I have enjoyed my time here. Churchhill Richmond is a beautiful place to live. It is located perfectly for access into Richmond’s municipal center, the VCU campus, the MCV medical complex and local nightlife."

"Church Hill is a quiet but lively neighborhood with a ton of community and culture. I love that it has the benefits of a city (stores, restaurants, parks, etc) but still has a neighborhood feel. There's always something or some event going on and we love that we can walk to everything we need to. "

"Easy access to the Pulse and GRTC buses. Walkable to Shockoe Slip and even downtown. Easy access to the interstates though it gets a little congested once you go down the hill toward Shockoe Bottom and the on ramps."

"Centrally located, mixed-income area, lots of nonprofits, friendly neighbors but also gentrifying quickly and becoming unaffordable"

"Friendly neighbors in a mixed income area; lots of stuff to do within walking distance; close to gas stations and the highway; walking distance to downtown Richmond, MCV, the river and the bottom; on the bus line; stores like Walmart, Lowe’s, grocery, etc. within two miles; some petty property thefts, but not really an issue if you lock your car and track your packages!"

"Skyline and river views, a great little park and plenty of dining opportunities within walking distance make this area a great neighborhood."

"I work in an office located 5 minutes from this area and I have renovated a home in this area. The 600 block of N 33rd St. is located 5 minutes from the Virginia Commonwealth University and VCU/MCV Hospital. Interstates 95 and 64 are also located just five minutes away. There is a nice Mall (White Oak Mall) located less than 10 minutes away in Eastern Henrico County with "big box" stores such as Lowes Home Improvement, J. C. Penney, Target, Martins Grocery, etc. along with restaurants such as Long Horn Steak House, Olive Garden, TGIF Fridays, Steak & Shake, etc. Public Transporation (GRTC) from the neighborhood is located one block away from N 33rd St. on Chimborazzo BLVD. There is also a Grocery store located just one block away from N 33rd St. The James River is within "walking distance" (approximately 15 minutes) from the 600 block on N. 33rd St. On the street parking is not a problem and there is alley access to the rear of the homes and ample room for off-street parking on each homes' lot located on the 600 block of N. 33rd Street. There is a dog park located with walking distance from the 600 block of N. 33rd St. as well as some restaurants, bars, parks."
