While I liked the sense of community, the education is terrible. If you can afford to live in Calabasas, you can afford private schools and that truly is the best route. It is appalling that there is no spelling being taught. The writing is so minimal. These kids aren't getting a good foundation. My child felt the principal is "fake" and "should run a preschool with how she talks to kids." Class sizes are ridiculously large and the combined grade combo class splits are a disservice to the kids and teachers. Obiously, this is an LVUSD and state issue, but I found the local public school to be lacking in basic education and specialist classes are a joke.

My daughter attended for one year and could not wait to get out. The sad part is that she really loved some of the programs and staff, but the families and students walk around so entitled with nothing to back it up. My daughter attended private middle school and took a chance on trying LVUSD since it had a decent reputation, atleast in comparison to many LAUSD schools. Quicly it became apparent that while LVUSD did provide more programs that many LAUSD schools, simply because its a smaller district, it was still lacking in so many areas. Including many teachers who could care less. lack if weak efforts from the administration, staff that favored certain families over others, overcrowded classrooms, bad food, and again, snootiness with nothing to really back it up. The school takes pride in being "bougie" and I'm sorry to say, they seem to forget that with all their "money" their kids are attending public school. Public schools should and can be amazing, but when you promote wealth as one of the key factors, there is a contradiction there that is brushed under the rug. SO - we are happy to be gone. Sadly the school continues to carry the reputation of mean girl central, with enrollment consistently dropping due to students leaving because of this reason alone. Its a real shame as the school has so much potential, however there just seems to be an ongoing and constistent pride that is taken in an entitlement that sadly, just isnt earned.

I have been in this school for two years and recently graduated. I’m very pleased with my experience at this school and I had a very good time there. At first, it was rough and I didn’t have friends but most of the kids here are friendly and the staff and administrators are super kind and helpful. The teachers are excellent and care about the students and their success. This school isn’t very big and there aren’t too many students so, for me, who can’t stand big spaces and areas this school was perfect for me. I do not understand any of the negative reviews and are very much the opposite from what I experienced. I have a 504 plan as I am an individual with ADH: and most of the teachers respected that and gave me more time for my assignments. I love the community a lot as well and it has a very positive vibe. Overall, an excellent school and I highly recommend.
