My experience with Brawley Union High School was very negative. For years, I reached out for help with my daughter, but the school failed to support us and ignored my concerns. This neglect caused me years of stress that affected both my health and stability.The family resource representative, Rita Zúñiga, also made things worse during my housing hearing by adding her own biased input and talking down to me. Instead of listening and helping, she judged me unfairly, treated me as ungrateful, and overlooked the fact that I was complying. Her actions played a part in me losing my housing.Families deserve real support and fairness, not judgment. I hope the school and its staff reflect on how they treat parents so no one else has to go through what I experienced.

I have had 4 kids in westmorland since 2007. My oldest just turned 20 in July and my oldest son 17 who is graduating with a 4.0 and is in the marine corp DEP PROGRAM. A sophomore and a fifth grader. I’ve never had to help my children with homework once. And only one of had a harder time when it came to getting better grades but to me that is because I feel all kids at a young age should be allowed to be placed in class setting by their talents and strengths first and subjects that are not at the top of them r talent be their elective. As well as home ec. And basic living needs like how to balance a check book or take a blood pressure by a cuff and stethoscope should be required as well . Not two kids are ge same and young age is when they are sponges and can take the talent they posses snd strength so by the time they are 18 they are confident in it. Not stressed out taking test of getting into a college that some can’t pay for. Causing more stress on them and doubting themselves if they don’t qualify or compared to another kid. This is one thing I loved about certain teachers my daughter who was not the smartest book wise had through the years they took her under their wing and saw that she possessed the skill of being hood and groping those younger then her in areas she was good at and those were the years she had no disciplinary marks against her or any accidents in class . But the years she got a teacher who either had been there years already or more old school would just see her as a problem child and not even waste time on her . Very grateful to the ones who did and the counselors as well who she loves and still talks about . But this goes for buhs as well. Too many kids to take the time to help her so just make sure they are getting her in attendance for theirs pay but not care about her other than that . Only the years mrs Johnson was principle was where I saw some not so great things happens teachers fired that were doing awesome things for our students and kids who were foster kids getting privileges or not being disciplined for bullying other students just because they were in foster care . And the kids bullied by them expelled from school. I love the school and it really comes down both parent and school support. Small community snd gif the most part everyone watched out for each other and they do prepare the kids before testing through assembly to practice , breakfast etc . As far as outside help . I don’t believe is behavioral health .
