Sequoia High school is a beautiful campus but needs a change in its educational system. It's unsafe, and the curriculum is very limited. My daughter was a student of this school and couldn't graduate because the classrooms were a mess. I have relatives in Arizona, and they tell me how well-structured the HS is in their cities. I feel jealous of my relatives because we don't have better schools in the Bay area, and of course, I can't afford private schools.

My daughter is a Junior at WHS. She has had wonderful, engaging, well educated teachers thus far. The principal is phenomenal- very communicative with families and has set a positive and supportive tone in the school. There are many built-in supports for struggling students. The school draws from a very diverse socio-economic area, and it does a good job at meeting a variety of needs. The school guidance counselors are amazing---helping students plan their journey through high school and beyond. There are plentiful offerings for elective courses, and many ways to get involved in sports/music/theater/leadership/clubs, etc. Overall, great school!

Roosevelt has been an amazing school for my kids. We have been there for the past 5 years. Project-based learning is such an immersive and engaging way to bring the kids into the topics, and it makes them really curious learners. I've been continually impressed with the depth of what my kids have learned at school. I especially love the school community. We've made great friends with the other families, and the teachers and staff are incredible.
