this is my daughter's 2nd year of school here. i can really appreciate the involvement of the fairly new principal, Mrs. Flowers. she is a lovely lady and she is so kind to my daughter. she always sticks with her if she's having problems. same goes with other children. if there is any issue with your child such as aftercare issues, bullying issues, etc. she is always there and she treats everyone the same. her 3rd grade teacher Mrs. Sierra is a godsend as well. at the time, i was a sole income provider for my house. i couldn't afford a measly $5 for my daughter to go on a science museum trip. she wanted all the kids to attend so she wrote me a letter saying she would take care of it and she sympathizes with my situation. i really do enjoy the staff here, they are beautiful and have big hearts. they will always make sure your child is up to speed on classwork.

Monarch High School is a horrible school, they treat my child very poorly and let students bully her even when i have complained MULTIPLE times and they do not care about my child's education

At the time I am writing this, I am an 8th grade student. This school has done nothing but demotivate me and make it hard for me to go to school. The teachers show little to no respect for students, even if some of them do nothing wrong. Staff members are overly disrespectful, and even if you try to reason with them, they will still treat you harshly. It feels like you can't do anything without getting in trouble. To them, everything you do is wrong, and it's very discouraging. A teacher scolded me for simply responding, while a kid being blatantly racist got off Scott-free. It seems as if teachers target the kids who try not to be a bother. People who constantly cause trouble almost never get told off. People of color or LGBTQ+ members are treated awfully. You'd think a school with such a diverse population would be more inclusive, but if you're even just a bit different, people will outcast you. These kids are never told off for it, which is ridiculous. Schools are supposed to nurture mental health and provide a safe learning environment, but Lyons Creek Middle has made me feel nothing but disappointment and frightened. Racism, homophobia, and ableism is normalized in this environment, and it's because the teachers don't try to call out these discriminative students. The staff members only go after the kids who cause the least trouble. I would not recommend this school to anyone. This school has made it so hard to get out of bed and to feel even a little bit confident about myself. Don't attend this school unless you're looking for the worst years of middle school.
