Wow! What an amazing school! Our family has had multiple children attend this elementary school. The teachers are wonderful. They care about my children as individuals. Some of them even show up at my children's events just to watch them have fun away from school. Teachers attend recess and interact with the students. I appreciate the behavior system they have because it focuses on providing a safe space for learning for all kids. My kids love going to a school where they don't have to worry about their learning being constantly disrupted by unruly children. What a relief for our family! Year after year, Wisner-Pilger Elementary proves that what they do is working; the scores prove it. Every August, the teachers welcome families and students into the school for a back-to-school night. Students get to meet their new teachers, put away their supplies, and get accustomed to their new surroundings. They have two family nights each year. Families are invited into the school to learn about parenting tips, eat with their kids, and participate in a fun activity. They always ask me for ideas for the next family engagement activity. Each month, the students are celebrated in assemblies where a teacher picks the student in class who best represents the character pillar of the month. How awesome is that! The teacher reads the nomination in front of the whole school, and the student receives the award in front of all 315 students. Last year, they had an assembly where students got to see snakes, lizards, and even a kangaroo. My kids were talking about it for weeks. The PE teacher puts on a fun and field day each spring. Students are smiling from ear to ear all afternoon. At the end of the year, the teachers put on a creative interpretation of a children's book for the students. They dress up like characters and act out the book. The students love it. They also recognize students and staff for their achievements at the end of the year. Throughout the year, the teachers share Swamp Chomps that the principal reads over the intercom. Swamp Chomps are when a student or group of students meets a goal. What a great place! We are lucky to call Wisner-Pilger home. There is so much more I could share from the amazing concerts to the support staff and specialist teachers. I am only stopping because I have reached the character limit!

0/10 Small towns should be home of an inclusive school system. This is not the case. Any students who aren’t born and raised there are ridiculed and bullied. Teachers allow students to be openly racist and sexist and are always more lenient with the kids who’s parents are natives and have money.
