    "Chicahauk is a year round community with its own beach access, community tennis court, nature and bike trails, canals for canoeing, all within walking distance from grocery stores, restaurants, Home depot and Walmart, and the best elementary school. Kids ride their bikes to school, the beach and the playground and leave them in the bike rack unlocked. The neighborhood is lush with vegetation and tall lob-lolly pines tower over the live oaks, oleanders and other native shrubs. Maintenance crews cut the grass in the common areas and along the sidewalks and trim back the trees every week. Community services also include tennis court and playground maintenance, recycling, branch collection, chips for mulching, yearly picnics for residents. Because we are a subset of the Southern Shores community, we get to use the marinas and take part in their boat club activities, and the tennis group at the Hillcrest courts and those parties as well."
