9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI sent my child to P.S. 254 for kindergarten and after 2 months, I had no choice but to pull my child out of the school. The administrators are unorganized, unprofessional, and unresponsive. I am a teacher myself and I am very disappointed by how my child was treated by her classroom teacher and administration. The teacher is clueless and unaware of what is happening in her classroom. My child was getting hurt because a child in her class was constantly throwing furniture around. The teacher had no classroom management and didn't tell us when our child got hurt in school. When we met with the principal with our concerns about our child's safety, he brushed us off and he couldn't answer any of our questions. He kept saying he was following DOE protocols, but he couldn't tell us what the DOE protocols are. He ignores our emails when we reached out to him for a follow up because none of our concerns were resolved. We decided to pull our child out of the school because children shouldn't be sent to a school where they don't feel safe.Parent Review4mo ago - Professional Pathways High School

"Sheepshead Bay is a great place to raise a family, depending on what area you are in… It can change from beautiful and well maintained, and then four blocks later it can look like a completely different neighborhood… I would not allow my children out to late at night as there are some bars around the neighborhood and the restaurants people do come from other places to eat there, but the crowd can change quickly. Otherwise most of sheepshead Bay is a great neighborhood. I would visit at night before I actually moved in to that particular home on that particular block."
