My daughter has had a very good experience a AHS. Teaching is overall very good. Incidents of violence and conflict are few, and the current principal deals with them firmly.

We have moved a few times and attended various schools-of all the schools my kids attended this one was the worst in our experience and opinion. Academics were especially disappointing; subjects my kids usually loved they ended up sadly hating, math and writing education were sub par in our opinion, and the lack of enriching literature they came home with was really disheartening. Luckily we made up for it by buying a ton of great books on our own. There is no talented and gifted program at this school (!) just a general "Genius Hour" where all kids attend a one hour teacher led craft... sadly this takes away the opportunity for higher achieving kids to be challenged. I will also add that the principle was never very personable and seemed out of touch with parents compared to other experiences we had-disappointing experience overall.

This is one of the worst schools I have ever experienced for my child. He came out a different person in a bad way. They don’t follow through with IEP’s, allow kids to come in with drugs/guns, and completely IGNORE the real problems!! It is so sad because this used to be such a good school and now it is trash! Teachers are useless and are in no rush to do their jobs. They wear sweat pants and sweatshirts to work with crazy colored hair. That’s who is influencing your kids! I had to take mine away from this disaster and now I am left picking up the pieces. This place ought to be shut down!
