I couldn’t believe how low the ratings were, I attended this middle school. It is one of the safest places to send your kid. I see a lot of bullying comments, when I went bullying was taken seriously and students could see their counselors anytime and the principle did discipline kids. I think some of the people writing reviews wanted extreme discipline but are forgetting they are still young. The teachers were amazing and always wanted to help you and offered time after if you needed it. It’s clean and a safe environment! One of the best places to send your kid in the 607

Just wondering because I'm interested in moving my family to the area how come all the reviews are on may 11th and 1 on may 12th of 2016 but nothing after that also the ratio's of student to staff is a little high in the over 300 students per 1 counselor, as well as no security of police enforcement at the schools which in my opinion is something I would want at my child's school so that I can feel safe and so can my child, same thing with there only being a part time phycologist & no social workers these are things that if I moved to the area I would want to see in all schools and at full time especially with what has been happening in the world now days we the parents and our children need to know that all resources are available at our schools in any event or crisis.

My son was a student in 9th and 10th grades, respectively, and would have continued had we not moved out of the area. He participated in all AP classes and fall and spring school sports. Academic expectations are very high, and the workload is similar to college's. My son spent at least 3 hours on homework daily, often more. I think that some of the faculty were excessively demanding. Most professors were exemplary, with few exceptions. We had a great experience with Vestal High. I did hear about student brawls, substance use in the bathrooms, and such, but my kid stayed out of it, and I am not sure how the admins handled these problems. My son didn't have issues with the bullying. In fact, I have heard him talk of acts of kindness and inclusivity (for example, the swim team). I would wholeheartedly recommend the Vestal High.
